objectives

Teachers will review instructional practices from programs with demonstrated successful outcomes (increased graduation rates, reduced recidivism rates, and successful completion of alcohol and substance abuse rehabilitation, and employment). Teachers will be able to:

  • List and explain types of journals.
  • Review journal prompt examples and formulate journal prompts appropriate for a particular student or group of students.
  • Analyze class context to determine sequence/pacing/process of writing and sharing.
  • Practice responding to sample journal prompts and sharing.
