Word expansion:

Take a minute or so to jot down 10 or more compound words. Each person in the group will then read their compound words.

Next, take a minute or more to write down 10 or more affixed words. Try to use only Anglo-Saxon base words with common prefixes and suffixes. Share your words with the group.

In pairs, make a web affixing the Anglo-Saxon base word, word. You will also be able to have a category of compound words containing word.
