Summary/Assignment Develop your personal professional development plan that will lead you to lead more skillfully and courageously.
  1. Self-assess
What specific evidence do you have that you truly believe in the ability of all students to use their minds and hearts well? Collect some of this evidence and put it into a personal portfolio.

  2. Talk, talk, talk
What are the hard questions you are going to ask your peers? Who will you start with, pick three colleagues? When will you do this? Do it!

  3. Which books will you start with?
Purchase one book listed in the bibliography tonight. Read it!

  4. Talk some more
Encourage others to purchase the same book or others. Form a book reading group that is focused on fostering resiliency for each other and for your students. Keep it focused primarily on the students.

  5. Prepare to lead
Continue to self-assess as you complete the other sessions.
