Directions: Working individually first, respond to each of the tasks below. Then share your responses with your small group. Look for areas of similarity and differences in your responses.


1. Identify abilities and skills that students with learning disabilities in math have that may help them deal with their challenges in in doing mathematics.

2. Identify abilities and skills that students with learning disabilities in math lack compared with students who are successful in doing mathematics.


3. Discuss what you might need to do to support students with learning disabilities overcome the challenges you identified in (2) above.
