successful outcomes (increased graduation rates, reduced recidivism
rates, and successful completion of alcohol and substance abuse rehabilitation,
employment).
Teachers will be able to:
List and explain key terms: resilience, experiential learning, direct
instruction, modeling, engagement.
Compare/contrast traditional with innovative practice in alternative
education.
Analyze current beliefs/practices and compare with research-validated
practice.
Review outcome data for programs; develop action research questions
to guide instructional program evaluation.
