Activity 1

Consider the types of student behavior that are bothersome to you and that lead you to less than helpful responses:
  1. What student behaviors annoy or anger you? Make a list of no more that three behaviors.

  1. Next to each behavior write your responses that are, in general, less than helpful to the student.

    1. Choose one behavior that “drives you crazy”. Write a simple plan that can help you behave more effectively. What steps will you take to put this plan into action? Share your plan of action with colleagues in a small group.

  1. Look over the list of sensible tips and add a few of your own. In a pair share your list with your colleague. Be prepared to turn your list in to the instructor so that his can be added to the list of sensible tips.
