Activity 1
- Discuss the process you would take to plan social skill instruction
in your respective setting. What is your rationale for using this approach?
What factors should you consider?
- List the behaviors you assume increase student success in your classroom.
Now observe two students in your class for an hour or two and compare
their behavior with your list. What are the similarities and the differences
in the two lists? How can you use this information to either design
or purchase a social skills curriculum?
- Do social skills programs work for aggressive antisocial students?
If you think they do explain in detail. Where would you find such a
program?
-
When teaching social skills do you match instructional approach with
student characteristics, preferences, and culture?
