Teachers will practice assessment and instructional strategies, which
address specific learning needs for students with emotional disturbance,
learning disabilities, and communication disorders. Teachers will be
able to:
- Explain the Goldilocks principle of assessment and
instruction.
- List factors that must be considered in planning informal assessment
and appropriate instruction for students with emotional disturbance.
- Summarize the basic principles of assessment and instruction for
students with learning disabilities.
- Explain how communicative disorders affects both learning and behavior
and strategies to assess and intervene with expressive and receptive
language delays.
- Review strategies to modify the assessment process so that knowledge
and skills are not masked by disabilities and to provide appropriate
instruction to address/remediate learning difficulties.
