This session begins with an introduction to counseling interventions for use in the alternative education setting. This session builds upon knowledge and skills developed in prior sessions that presented basic counseling skills for teachers. In this session, an overview of components of effective counseling programs is presented. A description of social skills programs follows. Components of social skills programs are discussed in detail and guidelines for conducting effective social skills programs in alternative school settings are included. In this session, teachers will be able to:
