1.  How is assessment an integral part of the teaching process? 

2.  Why is it important that the assessment and teaching process be described in behavioral terms?

3.  How do alternative settings provide assessment that will improve teaching? 

4.  How does student motivation in alternative settings impact the quality of initial assessment data?  How does this impact the teaching process?  How can the teacher improve upon this process?

5.  Why is it so important that learning objectives be written in behavioral terms?

6.  What is the potential impact if learning objectives are not written behavioral terms?

7.  The following are poorly written objectives.  Rewrite each objective correctly.  Remember to include the (a) learner’s name, (b) performance/behavior, (c) condition, and (d) criteria.  Underline the performance/behavior once, the condition twice, and the criteria three times.   

A.  Janice will pronounce words.

B.  Vicki will compute 1-digit times 1 digit facts.

C.  Victor will use silent E words.

D.  Bo will write the alphabet.

E.  Pedro will put his shirt on.

F.  Charlie will read orally.

G.  Rufus will say the Dolch Words.

H.  Vincent will relate to the building principal.

I.  Hwang will realize the importance of good behavior.

J.   Mia will value the importance of staying on-task.
