Module 9, Session 2

Activity 9

Directions:  The purpose of this activity is to evaluate your questioning if you are a classroom teacher or to evaluate the questioning of a teacher currently in the classroom.  If you are currently a classroom teacher, tape record or videotape a lesson where you are asking the class questions.  If you are not teaching, ask a classroom teacher if you can tape record or videotape a lesson.  Then, evaluate the quality of the questioning using the following two tables.  The first table is an evaluation of the overall questioning.  The second table deals with specific questions asked.  The more “yeses” the better the questioning.  Once you are finished completing both tables, take several questions that were poorly phrased and rephrase them.

Overall, how would you rate the questioning?
