Activity 1
Integrating Wraparound at the School-wide Level as a Program
Component for ALL Students in an Alternative Education Setting

With a classmate (s), brainstorm and list specific strategies for implementing key features of wraparound (i.e community-based, strength-based, culturally competent, family-centered, natural supports, individualized and needs-based) as a program component for ALL students in the alternative education program in your community.

Use the following questions to assist your brainstorming:

  • How can our school emphasize the strengths of students on a daily basis?

  • How can our school ensure that our students have positive connections with their culture on a daily basis?

  • How can our school create opportunities for students to build positive relationships and connections with natural support persons that extend beyond school into their lives at home and in the community?

  • How can our school provide facilitation of individualized wraparound teams for some students?
