Teachers will practice reading and spelling polysyllabic words using
effective strategies. They will also consider appropriate activities
related to word study.
Teachers will be able to:
§ Decode and spell long words and phrases using step-by-step strategies.
§ Categorize words from a high school text book into their origin.
§ Discuss a variety of activities useful for at-risk readers related to
enhancing reading, spelling, and vocabulary.
§ Complete the post-instruction Language Knowledge Survey.
