Objectives

Teachers will apply “best practice” research-validated strategies in novel and innovative ways to create a climate for maximized student growth and learning in alternative education facilities. Teachers will be able to:

  • List and explain: strategic learning, cooperative learning, reciprocal teaching, multiple intelligence.

  • Review case studies from alternative education classroom research.

  • Review a sample classroom activity and adapt for different settings.

  • Design an activity and test its effectiveness.
