Objectives

Teachers will design opportunities for their students to apply academic learning in service learning experiences. Teachers will be able to:

  • Define and give examples of service learning which incorporate the six (6) criteria for effective service learning.

  • Review curriculum for service learning activity ideas.

  • Brainstorm resource list for community agency contacts appropriate for service learning projects.

  • Design service learning projects which provide students with clear connections with their academic objectives and opportunities for reflection.
