Quick Write

  • You often hear teachers say, “This is a good class compared to last year’s class.” Or, “Last year’s class was great compared with this year.” Why do you think teachers express themselves in this manner and what are they really saying about student behavior and most important, about themselves? Jot down your thoughts.

  • In Psychology 101 you may have heard your instructor discuss the “fight or flee” response. Write down what you think the phrase means.

  • “Your attitude is always showing” is a colloquial expression that speaks volumes. Since your students perceive or want to perceive you as a role model, jot down some of your thoughts about how this expression pertains to you as a teacher or educator.
