Module 3, Session 7 ~
Activity 1
- Think about how you resolve conflict. What style do you use with
students in general? Are you aggressive, passive or do you routinely
use a problem solving approach?
- Develop a conflict scenario from your daily life as an educator. It
can be a student-to-student or teacher-to-student conflict. It can also
be a significant other conflict. You choose. Role-play an aggressive,
passive, and problem solving conflict resolution style. Reflect on all
styles and have a thoughtful discussion of all three.
-
Think of a recent conflict in your classroom, home, or community.
Did the conflict develop as a result of miscommunication? Was gender,
race, culture, or ethnicity at the root of the conflict? How did you
handle it?
- Review the conflict management process and report form. How could
you use this with students or clients?
