Objectives

Teachers will be able to :

1)         Identify the principles of special education.

2)         Describe reasons why it is important for teachers to be aware of the assessment needs of students with disabilities.

3)         Describe the eligibility process for students with disabilities.

4)         List typical methods of adapting assessments for students with disabilities.

5)         Identify typical methods of modifying assessments for students with disabilities (i.e., alternative assessment).

6)         Identify the principles and characteristics of inclusive assessment and accountability systems.
